Challenges of Traditional Welded Piping Systems

Welding may not always be the best method for joining metals due to various challenges. It requires extensive preparation and follow-up work, adding time and costs to the overall process. Additionally, indoor welding generates harmful fumes, leading to the need for expensive local exhaust ventilation (LEV) systems, which must be regularly updated to comply with changing regulations.

Welding is also limited in its ability to join different materials, and the intense heat can distort metals, weakening joints and affecting product quality. If the weld fails, further work is needed to correct the issue, causing delays and additional expenses. Moreover, the welding process can damage protective coatings, leading to corrosion. The growing shortage of skilled welders and adequate supplies further complicates the use of welding as a reliable joining method.
